A horror coming of age digital pilot.

Emilio is a Mexican American closeted trans teenager attending an all-girls catholic school. While doing his best to navigate his conservative family, friends, and school with his burgeoning gender identity, he has recurring nightmares of eating pieces of his own flesh before the wooden crucifix in his bedroom. He discovers when he does consume his own flesh the part he ate grows back the next day more masculine before reverting back to feminine the following sunset.

Lead. Gender-Nonconforming, Non-Binary, Trans Male. 18-27

Emilio is a repressed closeted trans 17 year old who is known to all in his life as a “tomboy”. He loves his family and friends and only hides his identity from fear of their reactions. He is fearful, but his identity is important to him, and he would live out and proud if he could. He is contemplative, perceptive, and yearns for more.

Celeste
Supporting. Female. 18-27

Celeste is a model student at her all girls catholic school. She is deeply religious and takes her faith very seriously. If she didn’t care so much about how she is perceived she would realize she is queer herself. She loves and cares for Emilio deeply, even though she struggles to consolidate her faith and her best friend’s burgeoning identity.

Gloria
Supporting. Female. 40-60

Gloria is Emilio’s mother. She had to enter survival mode from a young age and her decisions in parent making reflect that. She thinks highly of herself and her moral compass which she’s had to hold fast and strong to while raising a child alone. She works long shifts as a nurse and is constantly on the go. She loves Emilio, but her faith and traditional values come first.

Angel
Supporting. Male. 24-40

Angel is Gloria’s younger brother, and Emilio’s uncle. He is a bright light in Emilio’s life, and the one person truly on Emilio’s side. He is funny, charismatic, and continuously supportive even if he doesn’t fully understand Emilio’s queer identity.
